Do you think he will ever come around?

So yesterday i broke up with my boyfriend well actually i told him we need to take a break. I came to this conclusion after looking at our relationship lately because all weve been doing is arguing then making up just to argue again. I would love to remain friends with him but maybe a relationship is just not for us. I'll never know if i made a mistake by breaking up with him if he wont even attempt to talk to me. He hasnt tried to contact me since i broke up with him do you think he will come around to it?
