Help on Edgar Degas' Mediums?

Degas worked in pastels and oil. He did bronze statues as preliminary work for paintings. Also when he painted in oils he let the oil paints sit on top of paper so the oil would get absorbed in the paper and then he would paint with the oil paint. It would give him a dry brittle look to his lines and brush strokes in a painting.
