How will the San Diego Chargers look in the future? can they improve on anything and possibly get better?

Because the San Diego Chargers last won a Championship before the merge, which was the AFL Championship in 1963, I wonder if that counts as better than a Division or Conference Championship. Anyway, the way the Chargers lost to the Jets was heart-breaking, also I heard that LT, or Ladainian Tomlinson will probably not be with the Chargers next year. He turns 31 this June. Anyway, what do the Chargers really need to improve on to become a Super Bowl contender? Is it their Offense, Defense, Special Teams?
