What's another way of saying "this shows"?

I'm writing an essay on a character from a story and we're not supposed to use "this shows". We're also supposed to use a synonym for the word we chose to describe the person. (Mine was caring, shy and sensitive) If you could help me out I would really appreciate it thanks. =)
